For Starters

 Two truths. I love sailing. But I have no idea how to build a boat. None whatsoever. My wife thinks I'm crazy to try, and my yougest daughter hasn't been shy to repeatedly state the boat is sure to sink the moment it's launched. If building a boat is anything like doing house repairs I'll end up with lots of extra parts and likely build the thing upside down and inside out. It supposedly took Noah 120 years to build the Ark. Patient guy. I hope building the Globe 5.80 isn't like that. It might be. So, while most other 5.80 builders seem to confidently know what they are doing out of the gate, that's not what you'll find here. I keep this blog as the novice among novices, but out of a big dream and a bold idea that with enough time and elbow grease I can build something beautiful and seaworthy. I'm hoping the joy is in the journey, and that I'll build something fit for a Transatlantic crossing--if not a potential circumnavigation. For now, though, I ...
